Ann Lee Pond Trails
Beginner trails and carriage roads located on 170 acres, owned and maintained by Albany County, and part of the Shaker Heritage Site. All trails are doubletrack, forming loops around the pond. The entire area is basically level, with the only technical feature being a boardwalk crossing the south end of the pond. Many paths are mowed through the open fields to the west of the main loop in the summertime to show off their beautiful wildflowers, but these are also all flat and a bit rough to ride since they are not established trails with an actual tread surface. Nice and easy and a pleasant local ride to get out and get some fresh air if you live in that area or work locally. This is also a great area for kids to learn to ride off-road.
From Wolf Road or I-87, Exit 4, go west towards the Albany International Airport on Albany Shaker Road, which becomes Dalessondro Blvd. Go past the airport on your right to the second traffic light, not counting the light by the Northway. Go left, heading south for less than 0.5 mile. You will see the main parking area for the Preserve, park here.
