Our Team LUNA Chix ladies are dedicated to getting more women into sports and outside to play! At the same time, we raise awareness and money for the Breast Cancer Fund.
Our teams consists a group of women who go to work everyday and swim, play, run or ride as often as they can. We are also a diverse group, from moms to single women; teachers to accountants; casual sports enthusiasts to competitive athletes. Each of us know all too well what's it is like to be intimidated by getting into a new sport and the unending search for fellow women who enjoy the same active pursuits.
During the season we offer weekly road and mountain bike rides for all levels on beautiful trails throughout the greater Capital Region. Join us on some rides and see for yourself. We look forward to meeting new women and girls riding the trails, sharing the knowledge we have gained about proper trail etiquette and minimizing the environmental impacts of mountain biking, increasing rider skills, and, of course, enjoying the delicious and nutritious Luna Bars.

In response to the public health crisis of breast cancer, the Breast Cancer Fund (BCF) identifies — and advocates for elimination of — the environmental and other preventable causes of the disease. Founded in 1992, the Breast Cancer Fund works from the knowledge that breast cancer is not simply a personal tragedy, but a public health priority that demands action from all.
The Breast Cancer Fund is dedicated to the women who find the courage to face the disease and is committed to informing and mobilizing a public to be unrelenting in preventing the disease from striking more people. The Breast Cancer Fund’s programs range from strengthening environmental health policy to organizing International Summits on Breast Cancer and the Environment. BCF is essential to securing the institutional changes and policy reforms necessary to eliminate the environmental links to breast cancer.
With this work, BCF seeks to do justice to the women whose struggle and dedication inspire our resolve. By working together, with daring, dedication, and determination, we can move mountains, one step at a time.
LUNA is an active sponsor of the Breast Cancer Fund, participating in and donating money to support its programs. From Mt. Shasta to Mt. Tam, and every peak in between, LUNA supports the Breast Cancer Fund's efforts to move mountains and end the silence around the environmental causes of an epidemic that now affects one in eight women.
Did You Know…

LUNA is an active supporter of The Breast Cancer Fund (BCF) participating in and donating money to support its programs. BCF is a non-profit organization that works to identify—and advocate for the elimination of—the environmental and other preventable causes of the disease.
LUNA also supports V-DAY through participation in local community driven productions of Vagina Monologues and provides financial support of the organization. V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations.
Additionally we build intimate partnerships with local organizations such as Planned Parenthood, the Berkeley Art Museum, the Global Fund for Women, and the Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
Our programs… LUNA is devoted to supporting women in their communities, living their lives, contributing to causes and enriching the world around them. We support and sponsor hundreds of events each year through product and financial donations. Our goal is to reach women in their environment, and show them that LUNA supports them and their lifestyle. We work to provide consumers with an intimate interaction with our brand and product and through our intimate consumer programs like LUNAFEST, LUNA Mom’s Club and Team LUNA Chix. Our LUNA Mom’s Club has over 60 clubs across the country and is a way for mothers to support each other and interact in their communities. Most importantly we want women to have fun together and share great moments together. To keep this spirit alive, in 2005 you’ll see our Team LUNA Chix program growing to 4 cities in 4 different sports to get women outside to play.
LUNA Dedications are personal dedications to those women who have touched us, inspired us, and made us who we are today. For many of us, we're unable to see or speak to these women on a daily basis. And yet, they are continually in our thoughts and our hearts.
We acknowledge these women by sharing our Dedications in many ways including the backs of LUNA wrappers (turn one over and take a peek!), our on-line Dedications Quilt and our hand made Dedications Quilt that travels to LUNA events across the country.
