Capital MTB - Schenectady's Central Park Trails

New York State Capital Region Mountain Biking Connection

[edit] Description

Schenectady's Central Park--this is the location for the mountain bike races sponsored by Plaine's (they have one scheduled for later on in October so come and practice on Wednesday). It's a lot of fun with some hills, planks, log stairs, roots (but no rocks). It's similar in difficulty to Lock 7. For photos of what you're getting yourself in for, see: http://www.pbase.com/j_harvey/32606_race

[edit] Directions

  • Take I-90 west to 890.
  • Take 890 to Exit 7, Route 7 east (don't take the earlier exit to Route 7 west)
  • Turn left onto Golf Road
  • At the end of Golf Road, turn Right onto Fehr Ave.
  • Turn into the first parking area which is maybe 250 feet from the Golf Rd. intersection.
  • Trails start across Fehr Ave (there is a turn-around area and a metal gate in front of where the trails start).

I am soooo fake pre-loading this image so the navigation doesn*t skip while loading the over state. I know I could use the sliding doors technique to avoid this fate, but I am too lazy.
