Capital MTB - Schodack Island state park

New York State Capital Region Mountain Biking Connection

Schodack Island State Park Trails

[edit] Description

Beginner trails and carriage roads. Very flat. Nice scenery as it runs through the forests along the banks of the Hudson River. This is a very relaxing ride and suitable for families and kids learning to ride off-road. There’s nothing technical here at all, but it’s legal to ride here and a pleasant local area close to Albany. There is a boat launch here as well, so you could bring other toys with you, if you’re going to visit Schodack Island SP.

[edit] Directions

From Albany, take bridge over the Hudson to Rensselaer on Rte 9 & 20 East. Stay on this road for about a mile, then look for the turn onto Rte 9J South. Stay on 9J for about 20 minutes, through the village of Castleton on the Hudson. Look for a sign on your right side for the State Park and you are there. There is also an icon on the Main google map for trails and bike shops for this place.

I am soooo fake pre-loading this image so the navigation doesn*t skip while loading the over state. I know I could use the sliding doors technique to avoid this fate, but I am too lazy.
